Maybe a race thread is needed? I dunno.

To be honest I only started watching the 500 when Alonso first contested it, and that was a thrilling race.

Since then, I think I’ve watched every 500, plus I’ve watched some classic ones as well. I don’t watch any oval racing since the few Indycar races I remember to watch tend to be road courses, but I can make time for the Indy 500.

As always, I hope we have an exciting (and safe) race. Will still be hoping Alonso has a great run but otherwise I don’t have anything for/against the others.

Is it just me or are these aeroscreen indycars very hard to get out of? Everyone has seemed to take like 10 seconds to get up and fully disconnect from the car, kind of scary if anything bigger goes wrong for anyone
